BOAT

Who knew that a BOAT could make a person smile and feel excited about life and scared all at once. He’s always wanted a bass boat. I love the water and always wanted to live on a lake. So we bought a bass boat to go out on the lake, best of both worlds right? Well, we took it out twice and it had a few issues, we fixed them. Then it was excuse after excuse as to why he didn’t want to go out.

I totally understand that he is nervous around water, I get it. But when you want something to be near water you can’t stress or worry that something will happen. I know once he feels comfortable this boat will bring him more joy than he will ever know. Just being on the water in control and doing what he loves should be worth the fear he is feeling.

As he sees he can do things, he becomes stronger and feels better about this life that was thrown upon him. Simple things that never meant anything to him now are his saving grace. Launching a boat, trolling around a lake, fishing and just making memories that will forever outlast the man, is something that we need more than him. If only he knew.

It’s not just a BOAT that he wanted, it’s a life he craved, a life he needs to have to survive a little longer. So if this BOAT sits in the driveway and only gets used a few times, it’s the memory of using it that’s more important than how many times it gets used. Maybe I need to see the whole picture through his eyes and just let life take it’s course. Patience is the key now and I have to let him be happy with just having his BOAT.
