MISTAKES

Mistakes

Early morning thinking has got to be the worst. Sitting on the shores of Lake Huron, watching a sailboat sail into the morning horizon has me thinking about a lot of mistakes I’ve made when my kids were young. It brings tears to my eyes because you can’t go back in time and change those mistakes.

Just like that sailboat it’s set on a course and it glides through the water on a set destination, our life is similar. As the captain of our own destination everything happens for a reason. I don’t regret my mistakes but wish I could of change things I did. It’s sad that as we age our mind is in a different place. Our whole world changes and so do we.

As young adults we don’t appreciate life and the little things. We are like a boat adrift, no real destination, no true goals, just self centered and lack of knowledge. As we age we see life in a whole new prospective. We gain the knowledge to appreciate every bit of life, we finally want to live life to the fullest and just enjoy the life we have left.

I wish we were born with the knowledge to enjoy each and every moment in life. I wish life was just a simple as sitting on the shore watching the waves. I’m sorry for all the mistakes in life and I hope my kids truly know I did my best.

Take time to enjoy EVERY moment in life, it’s all yours be your own captain, sail that ship.
