The birds are chirping, it rained last night and my hubby is still sleeping. Drinking my coffee and listening to the sounds of nature is calming to my soul. It is more quiet than usual today, not sure why. Maybe everyone is sleeping in due to the Stay Order, maybe it’s Sunday and it’s a day of rest for most. Not quite sure what the reason for the quietness but it’s nice and I’m enjoying it.
I was up early today and was reading in the bible on sickness, I found this in Ecclesiasticus 38:9 – My son, in thy sickness be not negligent: but pray unto the Lord, and he will make thee whole. Now I’m not one to preach, I do read in the bible every now and then and when this passage reached out to me I needed to share it. People are running around scared of this illness that has plagued our world, we need to stop, pray and believe that there is a reason for it being here.
We need to be thankful God has given us a break from all the craziness of our daily lives. He stopped Joe and I in our tracks on May 15, 2019. We dropped to our knees and pray Joe’s sickness would be cured, we prayed that we have more years together and God gave us that. People always ask, how are you being so strong right now and my answer to them is usually, I just have to be. Truthfully, I am fully relying on God at this point. I wake up thankful and go to bed thankful that HE has made us whole again even though we have been through so much and to most our lives are nothing but whole.
God could of took Joe, but his story wasn’t finished. My story wasn’t finished. God gave us more time together and I’m thankful for that. This virus that is going around is your sign that you need to be strong in your faith, you need to slow down and this virus isn’t here to scare you at all, it’s here to make your life beautiful again. It’s here to bring family closer than ever, it’s here to teach us a lesson. Stop and enjoy your time together, stop and notice the simple things in life, stop worrying and start enjoying the life God gave you no matter what it may be.
Learn to pray, learn to love, learn to enjoy being in the moment each day you are alive. We truly don’t know how long we will live, we have no guarantees each day, so why waste worrying when you could be living in the moment and enjoying what God has given you right now. Be present in your life, he will make you WHOLE again if you just believe.
