Did you ever miss the old days? Can’t believe I’m even old enough to say that, but I am. As I sat scrolling Facebook through some of my old friends pages, I started to feel really old. It seems just like yesterday that we were all hanging out, partying with no cares in the world. Where did the time go?
Our childhood is behind us and we are all adulting now. The faces are older, almost all of us are grandparents, we have lives and most of us have moved on from each other or passed away. All we have left now is our memories of a time that was much easier, THE OLD DAYS!
Every now and then I’ll be listening to the radio, scrolling Facebook or like recently going through old photos and the memories will overwhelm me and bring tears of sadness and joy all at the same time. I wish I could go back and relive some of those OLD DAYS again. Driving around aimlessly for hours, where did we get the money for gas? Singing loud to the radio, dancing in the street, hanging out at the arcade playing video games and yes we dominated Pac-Mac and Centipeded. We played for hours on one quarter. The only goal we had was to beat the high score. I miss it.
“I can’t wait until I’m an adult!!!” Hmm if only I could go back and tell teenager self a few things. Adulting isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, stay young as long as you can, enjoy your friends, keep them close, love your life and live slowly. Although if I did go back in time, my younger self probably wouldn’t listen to this old lady.
Everyone, please live slowly. Make memories that last forever in your heart. We all grow up to fast, move too quickly and want to rush everything we do. Slow down, love often, make time and definitely stay young at heart. Take time today to remember some happy memories from the OLD DAYS, you deserve to smile today. I know I did.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
