Well, the decision has been made to go ahead with the endoscopy procedure. As we weighed the pros and cons together, Joe feels that it’s necessary for him to be healthy again. We got the call yesterday and the procedure is going to be done on February 27th. It took a lot of thinking and rethinking to be okay with this decision. We will have the LVAD team with us for the procedure and that makes me feel a little better. I hope now they can find out what is going on with his stomach and fix what the other hospital didn’t.
Now I need to get my mind in the right place before the procedure, it hasn’t been easy this week. A lot of tears, emotions and meltdowns have once again filled the Baer house. My heart knows he needs to feel better, but my mind fills with WHAT IFS. I know I shouldn’t think like this but this medical battle we have been facing is one battle I don’t want him to lose. I’ll keep praying and putting my trust in God that he will lead us on the right path. Please pray for the doctors the next few weeks that they will finally give Joe the relief he’s looking for and heal his stomach issues.
