Silence

Did you ever sit and listen to SILENCE? I’ve tried, but in reality there is noise everywhere. Today I got up early and sat in my chair, I just wanted to sit in the SILENCE of the morning. As I sat here there is so much to hear in the SILENCE.

I hear the rumble of the cars as they are all heading to work, home, shopping or just to go wherever they go each day. I hear the beep of the neighbors car as it starts up to warm the engine. I hear the snow crunch under the tires as the cars drive by my house. I hear dogs barking as their owners let them out to use the bathroom. I hear the furnace kick on. I hear the wind blowing the rope on my flag pole. I hear the hum of Joe’s Lvad pump. I hear my own heart beat. This is my SILENCE.

Try to sit in your SILENCE and hear everything around you. You will be surprised at what you hear. These noises are my calm, they are what is familiar to me. When Joe was in the hospital, I missed my SILENCE. So sitting here today makes me thankful for the noises of my life. Listen to them, cherish them even if it’s just the neighbors engine running. I love my SILENCE.
