Most of us don’t realize the BLESSINGS we are given daily. I am one of those people. I sometimes know right as the blessing happens, but other times it may take me a long time to see the actual blessing. Blessings aren’t always what you might expect, but they are there and I feel God supplies us daily with them.
I’m not by any means a devout Christian. I was raised Catholic and used to go to church. I think when Joe got sick the first time I just didn’t feel the need to go. I felt no desire to attend a church, my heart just wasn’t in it. I found spirituality reading the bible, talking to people who believe in God and just trusting that everything will work out. I have always tried to stay positive and do the right thing.
Here’s an example of a blessing that we received recently that we had no idea was one. While Joe was in surgery for the LVAD, the surgeon found as I said before, calcification on his aorta. This is a blessing because had the doctors caught the calcification before agreeing to do the LVAD they would of turned him down and said it was to big of a risk. So things like this. that seem less than a blessing, are truly blessings in disguise.
I didn’t realize at the moment that maybe God didn’t want the doctors to see it, maybe God knew Joe would survive and that’s the reason it went undetected. Things like this make me look up and say Thank You God. So try to see the BLESSINGS all around you, even if they aren’t as apparent as you would like them to be. Always be thankful for what you were given, it might be just as God planned it.
