Reassurance

REASSURANCE is the action of removing someone’s doubts or fears. How does one reassure someone when they are so unassured themselves. My husband has lost everything, his job, his health, his appearance, his ability to take of himself, his self esteem, his strength and that’s just to name a few. It’s hard for me to reassure him when he feels the loss of all this everyday.

As we wait for Social Security to decide if he’s sick enough to receive benefits, we have now been without money since November. We have had to count on our children to pay our bills. We have had a few friends and family give us money for gas so we can get to doctor appointments. The thought of selling off items in our house has been a struggle, haven’t we lost enough already. Why should we lose what we have worked so hard to get? How can I take that from him too? How can I kick him when he’s already down? If it comes down to it, then yes we will have too, but until then I try everyday to REASSURE my husband and myself that we will be alright.

I read a quote the other day that made me feel REASSURANCE it said, “Doubt and fear see the obstacles, Faith sees the way.” I will continue to keep us positive and I know keeping the faith will carry us through. Even in our darkest hours, I will always see the light, I will not stop being reassured that things will get better. We’ve got this, fear you have no hold on us.
